No Play? No Way! The Essential Role of Play in Your Dog’s Health

But play isn’t just for burning energy—it's vital for your dog’s health, mental stimulation, and happiness. Without enrichment, boredom can lead to restlessness or destructive behavior. 1. The Toy Elevator Challenge
Place a toy on a higher surface (e.g., a couch or low table). We recommend Playology’s Dual Layer Bone because it’s easy for your pup to grab and sniff out. Encourage your dog to figure out how to retrieve it using problem-solving skills.
*Playtime Tip: Start with easy placements and gradually increase the difficulty.
2. Sniff Treasure Hunt
Hide a rope under a blanket, behind pillows, or in a shallow box—our Dri-Tech Rope is perfect for this, flexing with the fabric and embedded with scents to help your pup locate it. Let your dog use their nose to sniff it out and retrieve it.
*Playtime Tip: Increase the difficulty by adding more objects as a barrier to the toy!
3. Towel Tug Surprise
Wrap a Playology Squeaky Chew Stick inside a towel and loosely knot it. Let your dog pull, shake, and untangle the towel to reach their toy.
*Playtime Fact: This type of play mimics natural prey behavior for enrichment.
4. DIY Hide & Seek Puzzle
Hide treats or kibble inside a muffin tin and cover some sections with our Squeaky Chew Ball. Let your pup figure out how to move the balls and get the treats!
*Playtime Tip: Increase the difficulty of this puzzle by freezing the kibble and treats into the muffin tin.
5. Indoor Obstacle Course
Set up a DIY Agility Course using pillows, chairs, and boxes. Guide your pup through it using treats or their favorite toy.
*Playtime Tip: Once your dog grasps the game, you can add small changes to the course and time them to see how quickly your pup will complete the challenge for their favorite toys and treats!

Not All Peanut Butter is Pup-Safe
WARNING: Peanut butter with xylitol is toxic to dogs. If you want a store-bought peanut butter for dogs, look for one that’s unsalted, unsweetened, and xylitol-free. You can also opt for peanut butter brands made specifically for dogs to ensure safety. Here is a dog safe peanut butter recipe they will surely enjoy!
